Bus Trips

The next bus trip is to Berrima Museum with an opportunity to shop in Berrima’s vibrant boutique shops after the visit. Tickets on sale now from Ann.

Concert

It is time for the Concert Group to entertain you once again.

Our Mothers’ Day Concert is rather early this year because of the council’s refurbishment of the kitchen in Heininger Hall. The group didn’t want to disappoint their audience by not supplying them with tea, coffee and a snack so there was no alternative but to bring the event forward to the 24th April. Don’t worry the entertainment will still be of its usual high standard.

Just remember:

Venue: Heininger Hall, Ribbonwood Centre, Dapto
Time: 1.30pm (but get there early to get the best seats)
Date: 24th April 2017

See you there...

Social Day Out

Last Thursday saw the club take its annual Social Day Out; as usual, the venue for this activity was the Motorlife Museum in Integral Energy Park just outside Dapto.

Oh! what fun was had by all who attended; there was cake, a chicken lunch, competitions, games, lucky door prizes and finally ice cream. It was so much fun.

Before the meal everybody chose from a wonderful selection of delicious cakes while they enjoyed a cup of tea or coffee (some even had beer) and took part in the trivia quiz, it was a testing competition this year.

A highlight of the day was the Easter bonnet parade when our most creative members cavorted for the amusement of the rest. The competition was won by Russell in his illuminated miner’s helmet but it was really hard to pick between all the entries.

After lunch the group went outside for games. There was Bocce, Quoits and Throwing the Rolling Pin - Philomena was outstanding at quoits being the only one to actually score! All our winners went home with a lovely prize for their efforts. Finally there was a lucky door prize draw followed by ice cream before everybody reluctantly went home.

As always Maureen and Rudy organised a fantastic event and deserved the thanks they received from members who went home well satisfied after a terrific day out in great company.

Why not join us to take part in our many social occasions?

Next Meeting–6th April 2017

There is a meeting on Thursday – don’t forget!

All the usual activities plus the raffle. See you there.

Our thanks to our NSW Parliamentary representative Anna Watson for attending our last meeting and giving such an interesting talk on a wide range of local issues including the Albion Park Bypass, the Unanderra Station Lift, Shellharbour Public Hospital privatisation and the Fowlers Rd Bridge. She answered members questions afterwards and her appearance was much appreciated.

At a future meeting we will have a speaker from Sydney Trains to talk about local transport issues and future proposals for the South Coast Line.

Our meetings are held fortnightly but there are club activities everyday of the week. Membership is only $15 per year. Why not come along and try us out?
