Snowy Mountains Holiday 2014

On the 26th October eighteen club members set off on their  annual spring holiday, this time to Cooma in the Snowy Mountains. What a fantastic adventure it was for everybody that took part. We stayed at the High Country Motel which had wonderful views over Cooma.

The highlight of the trip was on the Thursday when we drove down to Eden to go whale watching and were fortunate enough to see several humpback whales as they made their way down the coast to the Antarctic. Our first sighting was a female with her calf, later we came across two more pods of males and females.

The motel food was excellent with more than enough for everyone; a buffet breakfast, hot drinks, and snack for lunch then a three course meal in the evening - at our last dinner we had a special meal of Rainbow Trout.

As well as whale watching the trip included visits to Yarrangobilly Caves, Brown Mountain, Cooma Monaro Heritage Railway, Snowy Hydro Centre, Cooma Gaol, Thredbo Village, Lake Jindabyne and much more. We even saw snow! It was great.

Fathers' Day Lunch 2014

As usual Dapto Leagues Club did us proud serving up a magnificent meal. Members had a choice of pork or beef, everybody agreed it was delicious.

Our president started off procedures in his own inimitable style, welcoming everyone to the event.

For the first time we didn't have soft drinks on the table but it didn't seem to dampen anyone's fun.

The next club lunch is in December.

Fathers' Day Concert

What a Success!

The Concert Group's Fathers' Day Concert played to an enthusiastic, packed house at Heininger Hall on Monday afternoon.

The show featured some great new songs but still contained all the ingredients that has made it so popular in the past; there were comedy skits, poems, a singalong, wonderful individual acts, a delicious tea and, of course, the massive raffle after the show.

If you haven't been to one of these concerts before make a note of 24th November 2014 in your diary. At 1.30pm the group will present their fantastic Christmas Concert. Don't miss it!

Want to take part?

The concert group is always on the look out for new members so if you would like to take part and have a great time while you do - come along to a meeting for details of how, when and where to join, you'll be made very welcome.
